Yes, you can definitely rent an ebike for this and bring the spare battery. One set back is the spare battery takes one water bottle spot. Also, there are veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy few places to charge up. So the likely hood that you will have battery to last the whole time is unlikely and completely depends on many factors including weight, experience, battery saving/consuming so not using it the whole time. Lots to factor in …but not many places to plug.

A 20-minute FTP number alone doesn’t tell the whole story — body weight, endurance durability, pacing, altitude tolerance, and climbing experience matter too. You sound like a strong rider so with proper pacing you should be good. From my experience listining to all rider types….those who have climbed 5000′ may take them 5-8 hrs climb. 7-8k+ under their belts takes riders 4-6 hours to climb. Most pro-level riders are in around 3-4.5 hrs. Think about how trained you are today and add in your experience. With the right pacing and nutrition its not if you can finish…its whats you time goal to complete it. There’s just so many variables to apply to your personal experience.

To rent bikes for the bike path we have bikes for all ages. We have burley trailers, 12″, 16″, 20″, 24″ bikes to choose from for the kids! This is a public bike path for everyone locals and visitors.

I am planning a trip to Kihei to hopefully climb up Haleakala. My current FTP is 298 watts for 20 minutes, will that be good enough get make the climb.

There is water at “Laulima Farm Fruit Stand”, towards the end of the gravel section on the south side. They also sell fruits and coffee.

I don’t know exactly, but I know some have in their 80’s.
