Currently, our E-MTB rentals are available exclusively at our Kapalua location, where you can ride straight from the shop onto the Kapalua Trail System—no bike racks or transport needed. It’s the most convenient way to experience West Maui’s stunning terrain on two wheels.

Our Kapalua bike shop is the only location where we offer E-MTBs, thanks to its direct access to the trail network across the street. E-MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTAL PRICING:

EACH DAY IS A FULL RENTAL DAY

• Full-Suspension E-MTB: Starts at $139 per day

• Flat Pedals – SPD pedals available for those that bring their own shoes. If you would like to bring your own pedals, we put them on for you
• Truck Pad/Blanket (upon request)

EXTRA ADD-ON Rentals:

• Bike Shoes MTN SPD/ w/pedals: $10 per day

PICK-UP/DROP OFF HOURS:

• STORE PICK-UP: Opening until 1 hour before closing
• STORE DROP OFF: Bikes must be returned to the shop 1 hour before closing, so they can be tuned for the next day. Some are immediately turned over for pre-day pickups right after your drop off. (Late fees will be incurred for late drops.)
• PRE-DAY PICK UP: Is complimentary only 1 hour before the store closes. Any earlier the customer will be charged a fee for. Please note a pre-day pick up could be being dropped off at the same time as your pre-day pick-up. Depending on when the prior customer returns the bike, there could be a delay / wait.

3-DAY MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD
DELIVERY HOURS: 9:30 AM – 3 PM

• ONE-WAY DELIVERY $40 – (Please call the shop to add this option to your reservation)

We cannot always guarantee your exact delivery time, however, we will do our best to deliver at your requested time
We are not able to apply a pre-day pick-up to deliveries

TRANSFERS REQUIRE THE SAME LABOR AS A DELIVERY. SAME RATES APPLY.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you cancel with at least 48 hours notice a full refund will be given. Within 48 hours of we cannot refund your reservation.

LATE FEES:

There will be a late fee applied for each bike that is returned late.

EXCESSIVE CLEANING FEES:

If the bike is returned with excessive mud, sand, salt water or grime there will be an excessive cleaning fee assessed.

HALEAKALA DOWNHILL ROAD & TRAIL PROHIBITED:

FOR YOUR SAFETY, our mountain bikes are NOT permitted off road on any trails nor are they to be used on the Haleakala Downhill Road. Please contact us and inquire about bike trails and paths for your intended use. Please call us if you have any questions.

SHUTTLES / GUIDES:

Unfortunately, no company is permitted on MAUI to offer guided mountain bike rides or mountain bike shuttle drops on state or national park lands. We are happy to provide a map of local bike trails for you.

Maui Mountain Bike Routes

E-MOUNTAIN BIKES ON MAUI

Currently, we only rent e-mountain bikes from our Kapalua location where the trails are conveniently located right across the street. This setup makes it easy for riders to hop on the trails without needing to transport 50+ lb e-bikes.

While e-MTBs are allowed on other trail systems like Makawao and Poli Poli, we don’t offer racks for transporting them due to their weight. If you have your own transportation solution, you’re welcome to ride them at those other great spots.

TRAIL AREAS

MAKAWAO FOREST RESERVE

Beginner to Expert

Located just 25 minutes from our Paia shop, Makawao Forest offers fun, flowy singletrack riding beneath a lush tree canopy. Trails range from beginner-friendly loops to more technical terrain. The highlight here is Pineapple Express, a fast and smooth flow trail built in partnership with IMBA and local riders. Most routes include around 800–900 ft. of climbing, making this a great choice for both quick rides and longer sessions.

KULA FOREST RESERVE / POLI POLI

Intermediate to Advanced

Poli Poli offers a rugged, scenic ride through the Kula Forest Reserve, with fire roads and singletrack winding through native forest. It’s a quieter, more remote ride with big elevation (6,500’–7,100′) and views that stretch to the Big Island on a clear day.

Mamane Trail is a fun descent to wrap up your ride.
Redwood & Boundary offer more technical options with hike-a-bike sections.
Waikoa Loop is a nice extra loop.

Note: Upper Waiakoa and Upper Waiohuli trails are under construction.

KAPALUA TRAILS

Intermediate to Advanced
Located right across from our Kapalua shop, this trail network is the perfect place to jump on an e-mountain bike and hit the dirt without any transport logistics. These trails offer a nice mix of climbs, descents, and coastal views, making it a great place to spend a few hours or a half-day on the bike.

We run our e-MTB guided tours and rentals exclusively from this location to keep things simple and accessible. Whether you’re new to mountain biking or looking for a fun ride on the Westside, Kapalua is a solid pick.
