We ride rain or shine! The weather on Maui is notorious for changing in the blink of an eye. If weather looks like it might become a factor, more often than not your guide will be able to suggest an alternate route. Maui has many microclimates; it might be raining on one side of the island, but bright and sunny on the other side!

If you opt out of the ride due to weather, there is no refund.

If we make the decision to cancel a ride due to weather, we will first look to reschedule for a another day. If you are unable to reschedule, we will refund 100% of the cost.

All participants on a guided tour will receive the following:

– one 20oz Maui Sunriders branded water bottle

– single serving hydration mix

– single solid nutritional item

All our tours start at one of our bike shops – we have additional water and bike snacks available for purchase before heading out to ride.

Your guide will also let you know of opportunities to purchase food & water along your ride. Some routes have more frequent opportunities than others.

Typically, no. However, on any given day the route is subject to change based on any of the following factors:

• Weather
• Rider(s) ability level
• Rider(s) time constraints
• Rider(s) interests

This is not to say that riders dictate where you’ll go; rather, your guide will work with you to facilitate the best possible riding experience for you and your group.

The National Park Service does not allow commercially operated guided tours of any kind within the boundaries of Haleakala National Park. Unfortunately, that limits us for guided tours for the Haleakala climb specifically.

We offer a riding guide up to 7,000′ – the entrance to the National Park. You will be on your own for the rest of the climb to the summit, and the entire descent. From the National Park entrance, it’s 13 miles and 3,000′ to the summit. From the summit, it’s a 36-mile descent back to sea level.

For an additional cost, you can also hire a sag vehicle. The sag vehicle – like your ride guide – cannot enter the National Park.

In short, yes. However, we only schedule these tours privately.

Both the East Maui Loop and West Maui Loop are more challenging and time intensive than our weekly offerings, and therefore should only be attempted by those who are confident spending hours in the saddle navigating tight, windy roads and steep grades. This is particularly true of the East Maui Loop.

For rides of this length, we also offer a sag vehicle for hire.
